Dr. Sridhar Prathikanti, MD, serves as the Medical Director of our clinic, bringing more than 25 years of experience in psychiatry and a strong commitment to innovative, patient-centered care. His career began with six years at the National Institutes of Health, where he conducted research on autism, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, particularly in patients with co-occurring substance use disorders.
He has held academic and clinical positions as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF and spent eight years at the San Francisco VA, where he was an early adopter of telehealth psychiatry. His clinical experience also includes work in psychiatric emergency services and leadership as Medical Director of an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit, providing him with deep expertise in geropsychiatry and in caring for vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness.
Dr. Prathikanti has dedicated the past 16 years to serving communities across Northern California, including Santa Rosa, Lassen County, and Tehama County. Most recently, he held leadership roles in public mental health as a Program Manager in Tehama County and as the founder of Premier Independence. As Medical Director, he leads our clinic with a focus on innovation, accessibility, and delivering high-quality mental health care tailored to the needs of our community.
